About Us
Who We Are
IMPACT for Animals was created in 1995 to meet the ever-increasing needs of homeless or soon to be homeless cats & dogs in the St. Louis area. IMPACT strives to meet the medical and psychological needs of animals who have suffered abuse or neglect through no fault of their own. All rescued animals receive appropriate veterinarian care. Every person involved in IMPACT for Animals operates in a volunteer capacity.
What We Do
IMPACT for Animals places unwanted and neglected pets in loving forever homes. In order to secure the most permanent placements possible, IMPACT is committed to educating the public in regards to the importance of spaying and neutering. IMPACT also promotes public education on ways to provide structured, consistent, and safe environments for all pets, as well as promoting education on the benefits of ongoing socialization and training for the family pet.
By adopting from IMPACT, you can be assured that your new pet has been given the best of care. All animals reside in foster homes. They are socialized and assessed for behaviors, quirks and special needs, PRIOR to being listed as "available" on our site. Since our adoptees are in homes, we usually know quite a bit about each pet's individual personality, such as who does or does not interact well with other cats, dogs and children.
Where to find our adoption events
IMPACT for Animals holds monthly adoption events on the first full weekend of every month at the Sunset Hills PetSmart, 10900 Sunset Hills Plaza, St. Louis, MO, 63127.
If a major holiday occurs on this weekend, the adoption event may be held on an alternate weekend.
Adoption Events Hours
1st full weekend of month, Sunset Hills PetSmart
Saturday: Dogs in attendance from 10:30am to 3:00pm
Cats in attendance from 11:00 am to 3:00pm
Sunday: Dogs and cats in attendance from 12 noon until 3:00pm
Some of our available pets find the setting inside PetSmart extremely stressful. In order to avoid placing these pets in such an uncomfortable environment, our adoption advisers will be glad to make alternate arrangements for potential adopters wishing to meet these special pets.
IMPACT for Animals is staffed solely by volunteers and foster families. We do not have a physical building or structure. We try to accommodate the needs of potential adopters, but sometimes have limited time available to show pets outside of regularly scheduled adoption events.
